Some of Haywood Sixth Form Academy students with their A Level results

Great first year of A Level results for Haywood Sixth Form Academy

  • 90% of Y13 A Level/BTEC leavers are going onto higher education – all have conditional offers, 25% received unconditional offers
  • 30% of students gained As and Bs
  • 95% of students who studied a vocational qualification gained a distinction or distinction*
  • 75% of Y12 Work Based Learning students have successfully secured an apprenticeship

High Achievers

Katie Fone, aged 18 from Burslem – secured her first choice place at Keele University with an AAB and will now go on to study Biomedical Science.

Lukas Blaskevicius, aged 18 originally from Lithuania and now lives in Burslem –joined Haywood Academy in Y8 and spoke no English, he’s achieved a Distinction* and two Cs and has secured his first choice place at Staffs Uni to study Product Design.

Aron Bourne, aged 18 and also from Burslem – achieved BCC and secured his first choice place to study History at Huddersfield University.

Congratulations to all!

Head of Sixth Form, Paula Fergusson offered her congratulations to all students and commented;

“I’d like to say massive congratulations to all our students. We’re really pleased with the results and proud of the hard work and dedication of both our students and staff.”

“It’s our first year of results and we look forward to building on our success next year.”

“We’re delighted that such a high percentage of our students are moving on to either higher education or apprenticeships and we wish them every success for the future”.

“I’d also like to acknowledge the commitment of all the staff at Haywood Sixth Form Academy who’ve played a significant part in preparing and supporting the students so that they achieve their ambitions”.
